Born in '89: update

The EBRD received hundreds of entries for its “Born in ‘89″ essay competition, which invited people from the EBRD region to share their experiences of growing up in the years after the fall of the Berlin wall.

Finalists are going to be announced soon. In the meantime, the Bank held a Q&A event about the competition at its Annual Meeting in Zagreb; five of the best entrants from the Balkan region were invited to share their experiences with an audience of delegates and journalists.

EBRD Deputy Director of Communications Larry Sherwin, who organised the event, said the competition had been a huge success:
